It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the department of Agricultural & Bioresources Engineering. Our department is dedicated to applying engineering principles to address the challenges of agriculture for sustainable economic development. We pride ourselves as the leading department in playing a pivotal role in achieving food security in our country. We continuously make tremendous contributions in research and innovation, while also fostering academic excellence. We are committed to equipping our students with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values required to excel both in their studies and future career.

Our students are also trained in rural agriculture development, agro-industrial policies, and agricultural project management.
We integrate smart, internet of things (IoT), AI, precision agriculture, (using GPS, sensors, drones) to drive research and innovations in feed, food, fiber and green energy production, postharvest processing, value-addition of agro-products, agricultural waste valorization, and environment sustainability through these domains.
The career paths for an Agricultural and Bioresources Engineer includes but are not limited to the following: project engineer or lead engineer, product development engineer, agricultural systems analyst, sustainability or environmental consultant, government or NGO expert in rural development, engineering manager, research & development officer or director (for agri-tech firms), policy advisor (for governments or international agencies), entrepreneurs (e.g., launching agri-tech startups), academia or research, international development agencies (e.g. the UN, FAO, IFAD, USAID, etc.), agri-tech companies (working on smart farming tools or AI-driven tools), consulting firms (solving large-scale agri-infrastructure problems), field engineer, design engineer (agric. equipment or irrigation systems), technical sales engineer (for agric. machinery or irrigation companies, etc.), water treatment and management industries, waste management and conversion companies, among many others.
